Ending Campus Hunger in Uganda

In Ugandan universities, rising costs and limited welfare support are causing many students to skip meals. Learn And Lunch is building a national response through research, student networks, and practical solutions to ensure no student must choose between learning and eating.

Students studying together

Learn And Lunch is a student centered initiative working to understand and address food insecurity within Ugandan universities. Through national research, student networks, and institutional engagement, we are documenting the realities students face and working with universities, student associations, and policymakers to strengthen campus welfare systems.

HOW OUR MODEL WORKS

Research and Evidence

We conduct research across universities to understand student food insecurity and generate evidence that informs dialogue, institutional improvement, and stronger campus welfare systems.

Student Networks and Campus Coalitions

We unite student associations and campus groups into a national coalition that elevates student welfare issues and strengthens collective action addressing campus hunger.

Immediate Support and Nutrition Awareness

We support responsible emergency food initiatives and provide nutrition education while long term solutions are developed, ensuring students access food with dignity.
